As a service to the community, Austrosoft offers smaller clubs AS Club free of
charge. This offer allows the creation of up to 100 member accounts
and requires only a free online registration;
exceeding this limit, a license needs to be purchased.
The program license is focused on the database, i.e. it gives clients the right to
create one accounts database and access it from any number
of computers. It includes a one year maintenance and support (M&S) contract which
entitles the license holder to free, unrestricted email support and to
receiving all program patches and program updates made available on the
Austrosoft website. AS Club downloads and installs them automatically if an Internet connection
is available.
A licensed site is also entitled to the use of the Austrosoft web backup service
which maintains a mirror image of the AS Club installation on the
Austrosoft web server; the resynchronization
of a client computer (or multiple computers, if desired) is a one-click
operation.
The yearly license fee consists of a fixed amount of R 2,200.00 plus the
M&S fee according to the table below. The
total amount depends on the number of member accounts the user wishes the
program to maintain concurrently, rounded up to the next 100. Upgrades to this
number can be made at any time and will be charged
pro rata.
Example:
AS Club license + 1 year maintenance and support fees (200 accounts):
R 2,200.00 + R 748.00 = R 2,948.00
The renewal of the license after the first year is optional. If the user opts
not to renew, AS Club can be used free of charge, notionally until 31.
December 2099, and the number of member accounts will no longer be
restricted. Support through email, program updates and the use of the
Austrosoft web server for online backups will however be discontinued.
